Pre-Bar Review I - Remote

This course surveys core U.S. legal doctrine in a number of areas including Tort Law, Contracts, and Civil Procedure. These core subjects will be reviewed and analyzed and then serve as the foundation for practical application on the Uniform Bar Examination. Students will learn fundamental strategies in reading, outlining, and writing essays as well as answering multiple choice questions. In addition, students will be exposed to the Multistate Performance Test and have the opportunity to work through several simulations. Throughout the semester, students will receive guided feedback on their essay writing to improve their Bar Exam strategies and skills. Students will do significant in-class and at-home timed practice work to learn how to directly apply these skills to bar exam-like settings.

Grading and Method of Evaluation:
Letter grade only (no pass/fail option). Students' grades will be determined by a combination of the following components: (1) essay writing, multiple choice, and study skills exercises throughout the semester, (2) intermittent quizzes throughout the course covering each subject, and (3) a closed-book, bar exam-style final examination.
