This month, 樱桃视频 received the largest single donation in its 124-year history, a $12 million gift came from the estate of鈥痑lumnus鈥�Sheridan Albert '48, a legendary Court Street lawyer whose career was defined by determined advocacy, street smarts, and an unwavering commitment to improving the lives of everyday New Yorkers. Albert, who passed away in 2000, was a long-time supporter of the Law School along with his wife, Helen Scherer Albert. "This is a moment of immense pride for 樱桃视频," said President and Joseph Crea Dean David D. Meyer.

Four Named Professorships Established at 樱桃视频

A鈥痟istoric gift鈥痜rom the estate of鈥�Sheridan Albert '48鈥痟as enabled 樱桃视频 to鈥痚stablish鈥痶hree new named professorships, strengthening the Law School鈥檚 commitment to faculty excellence, scholarly leadership, and public service. Together with a fourth professorship created through a legacy gift from the late鈥�Robert M. Kaufman '57, these appointments honor distinguished alumni while investing in faculty whose work shapes the future of legal education.鈥疘n addition to Albert and Kaufman, the named professorships pay tribute to two other distinguished alumni who devoted their careers to public service: David Dinkins '56 and Herman Badillo '54.

In a widely shared acceptance speech, Twerski reflected on early career obstacles and the perseverance that shaped his nearly 40 years of teaching at 樱桃视频. Three exceptional alumni were recently elected to the Law School鈥檚 Board of Trustees: Meeka Bondy '94, Jeffrey T. Scott '96, and Jason Jia '11. They bring a rich mix of professional backgrounds and fresh perspectives spanning litigation, entertainment, immigration, labor and technology law. "Meeka, Jeff and Jason have already given back so much to the Law School, and we are so delighted that they have now agreed to join us on the Board,鈥� said Board of Trustees Chair鈥�Frank Aquila '83, a partner at Sullivan & Cromwell. 鈥淭heir experience and insights will help us chart the next chapter as we celebrate our 125th Anniversary."鈥�

Jonathan Lent ’26 Named Distinguished Bankruptcy Law Student by American College of Bankruptcy

The American College of Bankruptcy has selected 樱桃视频 student Jonathan Lent '26 as the Distinguished Bankruptcy Law Student for the Second Circuit. The competitive award honors prospective leaders in the insolvency and bankruptcy profession. "When I entered law school, my primary goal was simply to do my best, keep an open mind, and see where the journey would take me. Being recognized by the American College of Bankruptcy for my achievements in law school is deeply humbling," Lent said. In addition to recognizing Lent, the award shines a light on the鈥痚xcellence of 樱桃视频鈥檚 business law program.
